WIP - White bunny hanging out with plants

Yesterday I made more progress on this piece! I didn't get to it today because I was delivering greeting cards to Deja Lu Books in Firestone, CO (more on that later), and I made a trip to Boulder to get more art supplies. The necklace is serving as a perfect thumbnail, something I've always rebelled against since my art teachers would assign them as homework, but now I'm finally seeing their use and it's keeping me excited about finishing this piece.

Tonight I'll be printing more star kitty ornaments, which includes a black version. If all goes well, 12 new ornaments will be ready to adopt!

Beginning of a Bunny Painting

Just started working on a new piece today. I'm enlarging an idea from a small necklace I painted to fit onto an 8x10 sheet of Stonehenge. The necklace took on some bubbles after sitting in direct sunlight at a craft show. I'm actually happy the bubbles happened so I could greedily keep it to for myself!

Happy Monday!

New Star Cat Ornaments

Star cat ornaments are now up in my shop! I've been busy working on a project I can't tell you about yet, working at my other day job, and completing shop orders, so I finally had time to add these cuties. Hope you like them!

I also updated my logo to a simpler design. My goal is to keep this one for more than a year, ha!

Autumn Bunny

So happy fall has kicked in! So here's my latest mini painting to celebrate the best season ever.

The Brew at Deja Lu Art Open House

Last night was the art open house at the Brew at Deja Lu! It was a lot of fun, and thanks to everyone that came! These pieces will be up through November, and possibly through December, or until they're sold. So if you couldn't make it last night you'll have plenty of time to see some original art, and remember to grab a coffee and crepe, and buy a good read at Deja Lu Books! Thanks Adam and Jodie for being awesome :)

Cute Things in Progress

This weekend I'm in another faire so I'm busy preparing and stressing out. Have I told you yet that I found out my printer uses dye based inks so I can print on fabric?!!??! I was so very skeptical at first, but it worked! What joy! I managed to finish some coin purses and pencil pouches featuring some little illustrations I did, one of them being the narwhal above. Once I finish editing the photos I will list them in my Etsy shop. I also did a little upgrade to my cat ornaments and made them all spacey and stuff in Photoshop, so I'll be working to finish them before Saturday. They take about an hour each to sew by hand, which means a Miyazaki movie marathon and audio book listening (Stephen King's Nightmares & Dreamscapes). And finally, I'm making some small original, hexagon paintings to be made into necklaces. I just need to poor resin over them for protection and I'm done! Any that don't sell at the faire will for sure be listed in my Etsy shoppy shop.

I added a "Upcoming Shows & Events" thingy to the left on my blog so you know what's coming.

For the people helping with the damages of the rain storm here in Colorado, thank you and stay safe!

Surprise!

Surprise! | 8"x10" | Watercolor & Ink | Stonehenge Paper

BFF's for realz.

I'm happy with how this painting turned out, but I wish I kept it simpler in the end. I just really wanted to paint some sunflowers since they are EVERYWHERE in Colorado.

Prints are available here!

Cover Your Head

Cover Your Head | 8"x11" | Gouache, Watercolor, & Ink | Stonehenge Paper

One of my latest paintings, "Cover Your Head."  The above sketch was hanging out in my moleskine for a while because I was happy with it just being a sketch. The ideas for a final piece didn't emerge until a couple of months ago, and even then I was still nervous that I would somehow ruin the sweet effect of the simple sketch, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! The text reads, "cover your head & wait for it to pass."

Prints available in my shop!
