Cute Things in Progress

This weekend I'm in another faire so I'm busy preparing and stressing out. Have I told you yet that I found out my printer uses dye based inks so I can print on fabric?!!??! I was so very skeptical at first, but it worked! What joy! I managed to finish some coin purses and pencil pouches featuring some little illustrations I did, one of them being the narwhal above. Once I finish editing the photos I will list them in my Etsy shop. I also did a little upgrade to my cat ornaments and made them all spacey and stuff in Photoshop, so I'll be working to finish them before Saturday. They take about an hour each to sew by hand, which means a Miyazaki movie marathon and audio book listening (Stephen King's Nightmares & Dreamscapes). And finally, I'm making some small original, hexagon paintings to be made into necklaces. I just need to poor resin over them for protection and I'm done! Any that don't sell at the faire will for sure be listed in my Etsy shoppy shop.

I added a "Upcoming Shows & Events" thingy to the left on my blog so you know what's coming.

For the people helping with the damages of the rain storm here in Colorado, thank you and stay safe!

Surprise!

Surprise! | 8"x10" | Watercolor & Ink | Stonehenge Paper

BFF's for realz.

I'm happy with how this painting turned out, but I wish I kept it simpler in the end. I just really wanted to paint some sunflowers since they are EVERYWHERE in Colorado.

Prints are available here!

Cover Your Head

Cover Your Head | 8"x11" | Gouache, Watercolor, & Ink | Stonehenge Paper

One of my latest paintings, "Cover Your Head."  The above sketch was hanging out in my moleskine for a while because I was happy with it just being a sketch. The ideas for a final piece didn't emerge until a couple of months ago, and even then I was still nervous that I would somehow ruin the sweet effect of the simple sketch, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! The text reads, "cover your head & wait for it to pass."

Prints available in my shop!

Lucky Cats and Stickers

Black Maneki Neko |  3x4 | Gouache & Watercolor | Watercolor paper

White Maneki Neko |  3x4 | Gouache & Watercolor | Watercolor paper

Of course, I couldn't resist making stickers :3

I really needed to make some mini paintings and I thought maneki nekos would be perfect! Really, I was testing to see how quickly I could paint these. My idea was to paint mini same-day requests at craft shows, but I need to get faster first! I hope you like them :3
